Edisto Island, SC has been occupied since before recorded history if you believe all the evidence found on Edisto in recent times. Therefore it must have held some fascination and worth to mankind over these many, many years. The more you read all that has been written about Edisto and the more you go out into its creeks, marshes and old plantation sites, the more it grows on you. It tends to make you want to stay on the ocean side of the Dawhoo Bridge and never leave. One fascination after the next keeps coming up and giving you another avenue of interest to explore. I honestly believe that one could not learn all there is to know about Edisto in one lifetime.
