Beulah Washington
Born in Gaffney, SC, she was a beloved part of the Edisto community for decades. For 58 years, she was married to Rev. McKinley Washington who was a Presbyterian minister on Edisto, a SC Representative and a SC Senator, serving in the SC General Assembly from 1975 until 1999. They were both prominent in Edisto’s Black community and were active in the civil rights movement.
