CARROLL BELSER: Belser has deep Edisto roots dating back to her great-great grandfather, Isaac Jenkins Mikell, who built Peter’s Point Plantation in 1830. Since 1880, Belser’s family has lived on Sunny Side Plantation, which was built by her great grandfather, Townsend Mikell.
